Make a real difference in your community through person-centred care

The science of professional caring is a rewarding job and one of the world's most respected vocations. At Griffith, you'll join the cornerstone of the healthcare service, and learn how to deliver life-changing outcomes for patients, their families and their communities.

Nursing offers unique opportunities to promote and restore health to others, prevent illness and alleviate suffering. Upon completing our Bachelor of Nursing, you will be eligible to become a Registered Nurse, equipped with the knowledge to make critical decisions, coordinate care, educate patients and provide leadership and supervision to Enrolled Nurses. You'll develop these skills through clinical placements that start very early in your degree and range across a variety of health services sectors, with fantastic opportunities to undertake rural, remote and overseas placements in areas of nursing practice that are of interest to you.

Midwifery at Griffith is tailored towards developing the next generation of midwives. Through your degree, you'll have the unique opportunity to follow 20 women throughout their pregnancy until six weeks after birth, and be on-call to attend the labour and birth. This learning experience is highly valued by students and graduates but requires a high level of commitment and flexibility. Employment opportunities from this degree are excellent, with nearly 100 per cent of graduates gaining employment within six months of graduation.
