As a community, we want all of our students and staff to interact safely and respectfully with others, and we know that sometimes support is needed to meet those expectations.
The Student Safety and Wellbeing team are here to support a safe environment at Griffith. We provide confidential support for disclosures of concerning, threatening or inappropriate behaviour. We will listen impartially to your concerns, help you find the support you need, and provide advice on your reporting options.
Students, staff and members of the public with concerns are encouraged to contact the Student Safety and Wellbeing team.
What is concerning behaviour?
If you’ve experienced, seen or heard about behaviour that may be concerning, threatening or inappropriate, we encourage you to report it. This includes:
- behaviour that makes you or someone else feel threatened or unsafe
- significant disruptive behaviours within the learning environment, on placement or anywhere on campus
- concerns about someone harming themselves or others
- sexual assault, harassment or unwanted attention
How we can help
If you want some advice and support, we're here to help you in any way we can.
- We will listen and take your concerns seriously.
- We will address any immediate safety concerns, required support and strategies to manage concerning behaviours.
- We will let you know the options and pathways for resolving your concerns, including informal and formal procedures. We will support you through whatever process you feel is right for you.
Getting help and support
We encourage you to reach out whenever you see any problem behaviour. The Student Safety and Wellbeing team can provide helpful information, advice and support to minimise the risk to those affected.
We will not talk to anybody else without your consent unless we are concerned about your safety or the safety of others. We will let you know if we need to talk to someone else about what you have told us.
