Biomedical Science
Biomedical science helps society through applying new scientific knowledge to medicine and healthcare. In this degree, you will gain an understanding of health and the methods for diagnosing and treating disease. You'll receive excellent training to support your application for the Doctor of Medicine (5099) as well as a sound foundation for a career in biomedical research.
Medical Science
This degree, designed for high-achieving secondary school leavers, provides the opportunity for you to progress directly into our Doctor of Medicine (5099).
In your first year, you will be introduced to the basic sciences underpinning medical science - anatomy, chemistry, biochemistry, genes and disease, law and ethics, microbiology, physiology, and epidemiology. You will also undertake a course in 'interpersonal skills' which provides you with knowledge and skills in communication and interaction with patients.
Medical Laboratory Science
When you study for a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science at Griffith, you'll learn how every facet of healthcare is influenced by diagnostics — including pharmaceutical and technology development, patient management and more.
This degree will prepare you to work with top biomedical companies in positions that will transform healthcare. You'll also be prepared for advancement and management positions within the field.
Health Science
Health Science encompasses studies in areas such as genetics, anatomy and physiology, chemistry and biochemistry, nutrition, molecular and cellular biology, communicable diseases, environmental health, and toxicology. You’ll gain a firm grounding in health science, with the opportunity to develop specialist areas of knowledge through a diverse range of electives.
The Bachelor of Health Science offers majors in: Communication; Data Analysis; Environmental Health Management; Environmental Toxicology; Nutrition and Food Science; and Science of Environmental Health.
