Criteria and eligibility

Sustainability is a key initiative of the 2020–2025 Strategic Plan–Creating a Future for All and at Griffith we are committed to a robust, equitable and environmentally sustainable society.

We recognise the role models, allies and champions who are actively contributing towards embedding the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within our teaching, research and operations.

This year, both professional and academic staff will have the ability to be recognised for Excellence in Driving Sustainable Development Goals (i.e. against 1 of the 17 SDGs), with this category running as a separate award outside of the Professional Staff Awards where it had been previously captured.

All staff and students are encouraged to recognise excellent work by a staff member or a team of staff by nominating them in this category.

It is important to note that staff are unable to nominate themselves. This also applies when a staff member/supervisor/manager nominates their work team for a team award, that individual cannot be included in the team for reward purposes.

To nominate please complete the nomination form, addressing why the nominee meets the award category values in 3900 characters or less.

The inclusion of quantifiable metrics that measure impact or improvement within the nomination form are welcomed by the Selection Committee. Please note, no attachments or additional documentation is able to be provided or considered by the panel.

Nominators are encouraged to draft their nomination statement in a separate document and paste this into the nomination form.

Please note - when nominating a team you must list each member of the team you wish to nominate

In order to ensure we have adequate time to review and assess the submissions, late nominations are unable to be considered.
