Other exceptions to deferral
If your program has no future intake, you won't be able to defer your offer. If you are unable to accept your offer, you will need to apply for a new program when you are ready to start studying.
For other exceptions, including postgraduate programs, please check your program's details on the Degree Finder.
Applying for deferral
How you apply for deferral depends on the type of student you are and how you applied for your program.
Follow our prompts to follow the application process that's right for you.
Changing your deferral period
Want to start sooner?
When you defer, your start at Griffith will automatically be postponed to the same trimester the following year.
If you would like to start sooner and an earlier intake exists for your program, email deferred@griffith.edu.au with the details.
Need more time?
If you exceed the maximum 12-month deferral period and still require more time, you may be eligible to apply for readmission once you are ready to start your studies. See readmission for more details.
If you have deferred your start in a quota-managed program and are still not ready to commence after your 12-month deferral period, you will need to reapply for admission for a future intake. Check your program's details in the Degree Finder to see if it's quota-managed.
