If you are experiencing an emergency or are in immediate danger:
Services for student health and wellbeing
Griffith University is committed to fostering the health and wellbeing of our community. The University offers a comprehensive range of healthcare services including health, medical, counselling, pastoral care, health information and education services to support both staff and students. Services are available online, on-campus or via telehealth.
Which service would you like to access?
Chaplaincy
Chaplaincy aims to support your journey in life and can provide an effective first point of access to our services. Chaplains are accessible at every Griffith campus, giving students and staff of all cultural and religious backgrounds the opportunity to seek support. Chaplains will talk about religion if you want to, but if you don’t wish to talk about it, they won’t either. Chaplaincy can also assist with information about prayer rooms and bookings and use of the Multi Faith Centre on Nathan campus.
Counselling and Wellbeing
We provide free and confidential counselling and wellbeing services for students, providing helpful tools, strategies and perspectives on personal issues related to relationships, study or work life. Counselling can help you feel better, find solutions to problems and make lasting changes in your life. Specialist LGBTQI+ and personal violence counselling services are also available.
Health and Medical Services
Access preventative and practical help to look after yourself while you work or study. We provide a range of medical and ancillary services for students and staff, including: general practitioners (doctors), mental health services, vaccinations, boosters and immunisations, dietetics, pathology collection, referrals for specialists and medical imaging, sexual health, first aid treatment, women’s health including pap smears, pregnancy and antenatal care, and general health advice with a nurse.
Online Health and Wellness Centre
Many different factors contribute to your wellbeing, such as living a healthy lifestyle, engaging in meaningful social activity and looking after your mental health. Griffith’s Online Health and Wellness Centre can help you find information, resources, support and tools for your individual needs. You can also complete self-assessment tools if you’re worried about yourself or someone close to you.
