Discover more about becoming a student mentor

The Schools Engagement team engages student mentors to support them in delivering in-school and on-campus outreach program activities.

Our program is designed to raise awareness of tertiary education, promote pathways to tertiary study and engage with high school students from under-represented groups to build aspirations into further study.

The role of a mentor includes:

  • delivering school workshops
  • supporting events on and off campus
  • mentoring prospective students to support them transition into university
  • outreach activities for adult learners, Maori and Pasifika students, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students and students with a disability.

As a student mentor, you can:

  • enhance your leadership skills
  • develop communication skills
  • become a positive role model for current and prospective students
  • gain experience leading a small group
  • draw on your life experience to provide support
  • contribute to the Griffith community
  • meet like-minded people.

We are on the hunt for motivated, friendly, sociable, positive and enthusiastic students to join the Schools Engagement team. Are you passionate about the value of higher education and like to motivate and excite people about tertiary studies? Come join our Schools Engagement team as a mentor for 2025.
