Learn what it takes to build satellites and plan a week-long Space Mission

Welcome to the Crash Course in Building Satellites for the 2022 World Science Festival Mission Control’s Apprentice Program at Griffith University.

Based in Mission Control, students will learn what it takes to build satellites. They will be required to plan a week-long Space Mission, ensuring they plan resources effectively so the satellite maintains sufficient power to complete the mission goals.

The program is suitable for students in Years 7-11.

Mission Details

In this session students will explore issues such as traffic control in Space, how the purpose of the mission changes the altitude required and the different considerations which are associated with this, as well as a few unexpected curve balls such as Space weather events.
