Support for commencing nursing students affected by educational disadvantage
The purpose of the Surepark Scholarship is to provide support for students relocating to study Bachelor of Nursing at Griffith University Gold Coast campus, who are affected by different types of educational disadvantage that have impacted their ability to achieve their full potential.
Priority is given to students who indicate they are the first in their family to attend university.

Scholarship details
To be eligible, you must:
- be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or permanent humanitarian visa holder
- be a commencing undergraduate Nursing student at Griffith University's Gold Coast campus
- be relocating from a rural, regional or remote area
- meet one of the following criteria, either:
- be Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander*
- demonstrate financial disadvantage.
*Students may be asked to provide a Confirmation of Heritage. Note: A letter of confirmation is usually obtained from an incorporated Indigenous organisation and stamped with their common seal.:.

Assessment information
Information provided by individuals in their Griffith online scholarship application is assessed and ranked in accordance with the following Educational Disadvantage Assessment (EDA) categories:
- Financial hardship
- Home environment and responsibilities
- English language difficulty
- Personal illness and disability
- Educational disruption
- Remoteness or relocation within Australia.
Priority will be given to students who indicate they are the first in their family to attend university.
Value
The maximum value each year will be $10,000. Instalments are calculated based on enrolled credit points for the trimester, being $1,250 per 10 credit points, up to the maximum value.
It is the preference of the donor to support the same student in each year of their study.
Subject to receipt of donor funding, and at the discretion of the University, this scholarship may continue for an additional period which may extend throughout the duration of the degree. Recipients will be notified in writing of the outcome in each applicable year.
Payment
Payments are made up to six weeks after the census date subject to satisfying scholarship terms and conditions.
To remain eligible for the scholarship, recipients will be required to:
- remain enrolled in the approved Griffith University program
- maintain a minimum GPA of 4.0.
A scholarship recipient may take a leave of absence in accordance with university policy. Scholarship benefits are suspended for the period of leave of absence.
The above conditions are verified each trimester at census date. If a scholarship recipient fails to successfully meet these conditions, scholarship payments may be withheld, or the scholarship may be terminated.
