Scholarship details

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • be an Australian citizen
  • be a domestic commencing student, full-time or part-time enrolled in an undergraduate program at Griffith University
  • be registered with Griffith University Student Disability and Accessibility support services
  • demonstrate sound academic potential by having an ATAR above 74 or equivalent
  • demonstrate financial disadvantage by either:
    • being in receipt of a means-tested Commonwealth income support payment
    • a comprehensive assessment by the University
  • have not received the Inclusive Futures Scholarship during your undergraduate study.

To be considered for this scholarship, you must complete the following sections within your application:

Study details

  • Secondary education history: Include your ATAR details, which must be 74 or above (or OP equivalent).
  • Program preferences: Outline whether you have applied for an undergraduate academic program at Griffith University commencing in Trimester 1.

Personal background

  • Income and expenditure.
  • Scholarships.
  • Circumstances

The assessment is made on the basis of an assessment in accordance with the following four categories:

  • financial hardship,
  • personal illness and disability
  • educational disruption
  • home environment.

Statements

  • Personal statement: In 500 words or less, outline how the scholarship would benefit your studies at Griffith University and support your aspiration and goals for a career in the degree you are studying.
  • Challenges statement: In 250 words or less, outline the challenges you have faced or overcome.

You must also upload the following in the supporting documentation section:

  • Financial evidence: Please provide a copy of your Centrelink statement, or tax statement, or other financial documents to support your financial hardship

Please upload the following formats only: PDF, Word, JPEG or Excel. We cannot guarantee other formats will be accepted.

Priority will be given to students who are not in receipt of any other scholarship funding.

Value

Maximum value is $15,000 for a 240CP degree and $20,000 for a 320CP degree, payable over the duration of the degree.

The instalment amount is based on enrolled credit points per trimester, being $625 per 10 credit points, up to the maximum value of the scholarship.

Payments

Payments are made up to six weeks after the Census Date subject to satisfying scholarship Terms and conditions.

To remain eligible for the scholarship, the recipient will be required to:

  • remain full-time or part-time enrolled in an undergraduate programme at Griffith University
  • maintain a minimum GPA of 4.5 or above
  • provide a report to the Student Financial Support Office and Advancement Office at the end of each year that outlines educational results and how this scholarship has benefited you.

The above conditions are verified each trimester at census date. If a scholarship recipient fails to successfully meet these conditions, scholarship payments may be withheld, or the scholarship may be terminated.

Applications, including any supporting documentation, must be completed and submitted by the closing date.

The recipient will be invited to donor recognition events where the donor may be present.

Applicants may be shortlisted and be required to provide additional information.

Griffith University reserves the right to withdraw an advertised scholarship at any time.
