Donor details
From humble beginnings almost 70 years ago, John Holland has been driving positive change, and is now one of Australasia's leading integrated infrastructure, rail, multi-modal transport and building companies.
John Holland’s Infrastructure business is at the forefront of some of the largest projects ever undertaken in Australia, with expertise spanning more than 2,500 projects in Australia alone. From Parliament House to the Alice to Darwin Rail Link, from the MCG’s Great Southern Stand to Sydney Metro, the company has had a hand in the Australia we all know today.
John Holland is a business that believes in improving people’s lives and embracing challenges to make a difference where it counts. Traditionally, infrastructure companies have focused on what they do and how they do it. John Holland wants to shift its focus on why they do what they do, their purpose.
With a strong pipeline of infrastructure projects ahead of the business, John Holland is able to offer sustainable and fulfilling careers, including rewarding development opportunities.
John Holland is committed to increasing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation within the organisation and the wider construction industry. John Holland has demonstrated this commitment through employment targets set in its Reconciliation Action Plan and Infrastructure Social Inclusion Strategy.
John Holland recognises that the costs of higher education continue to represent a significant financial commitment, thus creating a barrier for some Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to participate and successfully complete tertiary level study. John Holland is encouraging of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, that regardless of individual circumstances, to be confident in their choices; be culturally strong; excited about their future; and prosper in life.
To support long-term sustainable employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and to assist in providing a clear pathway into a potential career, John Holland wanted to facilitate a university scholarship and potential employment opportunities for relevant individuals.
With this in mind, John Holland has established this scholarship in support of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying at Griffith University.
