Scholarship details
To be eligible, you must:
- be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder
- be full-time enrolled in the penultimate or final year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), including double degrees, and majoring in Civil Engineering
- have a minimum GPA of 5.

Additional information
Following the scholarship close date, applicants who meet the initial scholarship criteria will be emailed to provide personal statements (max 300 words each category) addressing the following:
- Interest in geology, geomechanics or geotechnical engineering.
- Personal background and challenges experienced.
- Personal attributes e.g. ability to overcome adversity, potential to achieve at university, community involvement, career aspirations, interests and drive.
- Impact this Scholarship would have on their life and how it will assist them in achieving their current and future career goals.
Shortlist information
Applicants will be shortlisted and may be required to provide additional information and/or attend an interview.
Preference
Preference will be given to applicants:
- who demonstrate a commitment to pursuing a career in geotechnical engineering or similar
- experiencing:
- financial hardship
- home environment and responsibilities
- relocation from regional or remote area
- English language difficulty
- personal illness or disability
- educational disruption
- of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander decent.
Value
Maximum value is $8,000, paid in two instalments over a maximum period of one year. Instalments of $4,000 are payable for each full-time enrolled trimester conditions are met up to maximum value of the scholarship.
Payment
Payments are made up to six weeks after the census date, subject to satisfying scholarship terms and conditions.

EDG Consulting Pty Ltd provides design, engineering, advice and geosciences services to private, public and government clients over a wide range of market sectors.
To remain eligible for the scholarship, you will be required to:
- remain full-time enrolled at Griffith University in the degree for which this scholarship was awarded
- maintain a minimum program GPA of 5.
The above conditions are verified each trimester at census date. If a scholarship recipient fails to successfully meet these conditions, scholarship payments may be withheld, or the scholarship may be terminated.
Applications must be completed and submitted by the closing date.
