To be eligible you must:
- be an Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident
- be a commencing student, enrolled in an undergraduate program at Griffith University
- be registered with Griffith University Student Disability and Accessibility support services
- demonstrate educational disadvantage based on a comprehensive assessment by the University
- not be the recipient of another scholarship for the same purpose.

Application Assessment
Students will need to demonstrate educational disadvantage that impacts their ability to achieve their potential.
Information provided by individuals in their Griffith online scholarship application is assessed and ranked in accordance with the following Educational Disadvantage Assessment (EDA) categories:
- Financial hardship
- Home environment and responsibilities
- English language difficulty
- Personal illness and disability
- Educational disruption
- Remoteness or relocation within Australia.
Recipients will be selected according to Griffith’s standard scholarship process, with consideration of the eligibility, selection criteria, and consultation with relevant support services areas.
Value
Maximum value is $40,000 (maximum $10,000 per annum).
Half of all payments (maximum $20,000 from the scholarship) will be directly allocated as a contribution to the students’ tuition costs.
Instalments of $625 per 10 credit points are payable for each enrolled trimester conditions are met, up to the maximum value of the scholarship. Payments are to be made in trimesters 1 and 2. Payments for trimester 3 studies will be conditional on remaining annual funds per recipient.
Payment
Payments are made up to six weeks after the census date, subject to satisfying scholarship terms and conditions.
Please note, payments made whilst studying part-time may be taxable.
Contributions to your Student Contribution Charges (HECS)/tuition fees are made prior to census date, subject to satisfying scholarship terms and conditions.

Cash payments are made after census, on confirmation that you are enrolled at Griffith University and still meet eligibility requirements.
To remain eligible for the scholarship, recipients will be required to:
- remain enrolled at Griffith University in an undergraduate degree
- maintain a minimum GPA of 4
- agree they cannot defer for more than one trimester. Payments will be suspended for the trimester that the student defers; however, will resume once the student returns to approved study.
A scholarship recipient may take leave of absence in accordance with university policy. Scholarship benefits are suspended for the period of leave of absence.
Recipients may be invited to meet with the donor and feature in marketing materials to promote the scholarship. Recipients acknowledge that the donor may produce public communications to promote and celebrate the scholarship, using recipient collateral provided by the University.
Applications must be completed and submitted by the closing date.

Applicants may be shortlisted and be required to provide additional information.
Griffith University reserves the right to withdraw an advertised scholarship at any time.
