To be eligible, you must:
- be an Australian citizen
- be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- be able to provide a Confirmation of Heritage provided by a registered corporation and stamped with the Common Seal
- be full-time enrolled in any of Griffith University’s undergraduate degrees in Trimester 1 2025 by the closing date of this scholarship
- have a minimum GPA of 4 (for continuing students).

Following the scholarship closing date, applicants who meet the initial scholarship criteria will be emailed to provide the following personal statements:
- Details about yourself and your personal attributes. For example, your ability to overcome personal and/or financial adversity, potential to achieve at university, community involvement, career aspirations, interests and drive.
- Outline the impact this scholarship would have on your life and how it will assist you in achieving your current and future career goals.
- Explain how you can apply your personal attributes and career aspirations in an organisation such as Calleo Indigenous.
Preference will be given to applicants not in receipt of other scholarship funding and enrolled in one of the following undergraduate degrees:
- Bachelor of Business
- Bachelor of Laws (Honours)
- Bachelor of Science
- Bachelor of Biomedical Science
- Bachelor of Computer Science
- Bachelor of Environmental Science
- Bachelor of Information Technology
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)
- Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours)
- Bachelor of Government and International Relations.
Applicants will be shortlisted and may be required to provide additional information to the Scholarship Selection Committee and/or to attend an interview with the Scholarship Selection Committee.
Value
Maximum value is $7,000* (base rate) or $10,000* (academic excellence rate) and paid in two trimester instalments of $3,500 (base rate) or $5,000 (academic excellence rate), for a maximum of one year, provided conditions are met.
For commencing students, their first trimester instalment will be made at the base rate of $3,500. They will then be eligible to be considered for the academic excellence rate from their second instalment onward.
*Students who have achieved and maintained a GPA of 6.0 or above in their previous trimester of study will be eligible to receive their trimester instalment at the academic excellence rate ($5,000) as an incentive and reward for their academic excellence, provided conditions are met.
Conditions are verified each trimester.
Payment
Payments are made direct to the recipients nominated bank account within six weeks after the census date each trimester, subject to the recipient maintaining the ongoing scholarship terms and conditions.
Additional benefits
As an additional benefit, the donor may choose to provide an opportunity for the recipient to undertake a work experience or vacation placement at Calleo or with Calleo’s clients.
Scholarship recipients will be invited to participate in events hosted by the donor to promote participation in professional development and networking.
Scholarship continuation
Subject to approval by the donor, the scholarship may continue for an additional period, up to a maximum overall value of $21,000* (base rate) or $30,000* (academic excellence rate), minimum duration of the degree, or up to three years, whichever is the lesser. A maximum yearly value of $7,000* (base rate) or $10,000* (academic excellence rate) applies with instalments of $3,500 (base rate) or $5,000* (academic excellence rate) in each year.
The continuation of the scholarship is at the discretion of the donor and is subject to the recipient meeting the terms and conditions of the scholarship for each applicable year. Recipients will be notified in writing of the outcome each applicable year.
To remain eligible for the scholarship, recipients will be required to:
- remain full-time enrolled in an approved undergraduate degree at Griffith University
- maintain a minimum GPA of 4 (base rate) or a minimum GPA of 6 (academic excellence rate).
Other conditions
A scholarship recipient may take a leave of absence in accordance with University procedure. Scholarship benefits will be suspended for the period of leave of absence.
Recipients must not defer for more than one trimester to remain eligible for the scholarship. Payments will be suspended for the trimester that the student defers, however will resume once the student returns to full-time study, subject to maintaining the other ongoing scholarship terms and conditions.
The above conditions are verified each trimester at census date. If a scholarship recipient fails to successfully meet these conditions, scholarship payments may be withheld, or the scholarship may be terminated.
