Financial aid for course requirements
Arrow Energy Scholarships provide financial assistance to enable students to purchase course requirements relating to the purpose of pursuing academic excellence.
Full-time and part-time scholarships are available.

Scholarship details
To be eligible, you must be:
- an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- eligible for admission into or be currently enrolled in any of Griffith University's undergraduate or postgraduate by coursework degrees in Trimester 1 2022.

Personal statements
Following the scholarship closing date, applicants who meet the initial scholarship criteria will be emailed to provide personal statements (maximum 250 words each category) addressing the following:
Your personal attributes
- Identify certain financial needs or challenges that have impacted your studies and your ability to overcome adversity.
- Why have you chosen your degree of study, what are your career aspirations and interests and what drives you to achieve these?
- What contributions will you/have you made in the community?
Traditional Owner Group
- Please provide details of your connection to your community as it relates to the criteria for this scholarship, including if you identify with one of the Traditional Owner Group Arrow Energy has capacity obligations (Barada Barna, Barunggam, Bigambul, Birri, Cobble Cobble, Emon/Iman, Jangga, Jarowair/Yarowair, Kambuwal, Mandandanji, Northern Gomeroi/Gomeroi, Wiri, Wakka Wakka/Western Wakka Wakka, Yetimarala), noting students who do not identify with one of these Traditional Owner groups are still eligible to apply for this scholarship. We understand there may be a diverse range of lived experience. Please attach any relevant documentation available to you.

Priority
Priority will be given to applicants:
- who identify with one of the Traditional Owner groups to whom Arrow has capacity obligations i.e. Barada Barna, Barunggam, Bigambul, Birri, Cobble Cobble, Emon/Iman, Jangga, Jarowair/Yarowair, Kambuwal, Mandandanji, Northern Gomeroi/Gomeroi, Wiri, Wakka Wakka/Western Wakka Wakka, Yetimarala
- whose field of study typically feeds into future workforce needs of Arrow Energy.
Shortlist information
Applicants will be shortlisted and may be required to provide additional information and/or attend an interview.
Value
Full-time scholarship
Maximum value is $10,000 payable in two instalments. Instalments of $5,000 are payable in Trimester 1 and 2 provided conditions are met.
Part-time scholarship
Maximum value is $5,000 payable in two instalments. Instalments of $2,500 are payable in Trimester 1 and 2 provided conditions are met.
Payment
Payments are made up to six weeks after the census date subject to satisfying scholarship terms and conditions.
To remain eligible for the scholarship, recipients will be required to:
- remain enrolled at Griffith University
- maintain a full-time study load if awarded a full-time scholarship, or a part-time study load if awarded a part-time scholarship
- maintained a cumulative GPA of 4 or above
- sign the talent release form
- provide a high-resolution head-shot photo (photos must have a clear background, show head and shoulders only, have eye contact and be facing the camera, show no-one else in the photo and have sufficient room around the head and torso. No cropping from group shots. Photos must also look professional, so no webcam photos or images from social occasions such as weddings and parties)
- agree their result will be sent to Arrow Energy at the end of each teaching period
- agree to be approached by Arrow Energy to undertake additional promotional and external activities.
The above conditions are verified each trimester at census date. If a scholarship recipient fails to successfully meet these conditions, scholarship payments may be withheld, or the scholarship may be terminated.
Applications must be completed and submitted by the closing date.

Applicants may be shortlisted and required to provide additional information.
Griffith University reserves the right to withdraw an advertised scholarship at any time.
