Encouraging excellence in piano performance
The Ruby C Cooling Prize is awarded annually to a Bachelor of Music degree student majoring in piano. To be eligible, students must be under 19 years of age at 31 December of the year preceding the competition.

Competition details
To be eligible for this prize, you must be:
- a full-time Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University student completing Performance Study (classical piano).
- under 19 years of age at 31 December of the year preceding the competition (2023).

Selection process
- Competitors are required to play two contrasting works of their own choice, not more than 10 minutes' total duration.
- The adjudication panel must consist of: the Director or nominee, one member of staff from the Conservatorium.
- No judge may be a teacher of a student who is competing.
Cash prize of approximately $350.
