The Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics brings together Griffith’s formidable strengths in biomedical research. By combining the outstanding discovery and translational research, infrastructure, and training expertise of the Griffith Institute for Drug Discovery, the Institute for Glycomics and biomedical teams from within the former Menzies Health Institute Queensland we will deliver real and immediate impacts locally and globally, transforming the lives of people around the world, especially those in disadvantaged communities.

Our people
Our Institute comprises more than 400 researchers and professional staff who are dedicated to the development of novel therapies, vaccines and diagnostics for diseases of global impact and the translation of new solutions to improve human health. We provide and outstanding environment to train and mentor research students to help them achieve their potential..

Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics Student Scholarships
We are offering a number of prestigious student scholarships to undertake research at our Gold Coast site. The following schemes are open to both Honours & Masters students wishing to undertake a research project within the Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics.

Sally & Warren von Bibra are strong supporters of the Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics and have been generously sponsoring this honours scholarship scheme since 2003.

We are offering three prestigious Student Scholarships to outstanding students who have enrolled in any relevant Masters program with a supervisor who is a member of IBG.
Application guidelines
Prospective students are requested to contact potential Institute supervisors to discuss suitable research projects, prior to submitting an application. IBG Research Leaders and their available projects can be found here. Pages 3-4, click on names to view projects.
