A leading institute of Asia-Pacific-focused research

The Griffith Asia Institute (GAI) is a global leader in research on Asia and the Pacific. Our policy-relevant research enhances connections between businesses, government bodies, and other research entities, placing our students and researchers at the forefront of national and international dialogue across various fields. Our research is organised into four knowledge hubs: the Green Transition and Development Hub, the Governance and Diplomacy Hub, the Business and Innovation Hub, and the Inclusive Growth and Rural Development Hub. Complementing these are our four regional hubs: the China and North Asia Hub, the India and South Asia Hub, the Southeast Asia Hub, and the Pacific Hub.

Our work is deeply rooted in the principles of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly focusing on SDGs 1, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 16, and 17. These goals reflect our commitment to addressing global challenges related to sustainable development and fostering meaningful partnerships. By embedding these principles into our research, we aim to contribute significantly to the global dialogue on sustainable development and drive impactful change in the Asia-Pacific region.
