Student testimonial

Throughout my six-week internship experience, I achieved more professional and personal growth than I could have imagined. Being in a country where I had little knowledge or expectations allowed me to flourish. The "say yes" attitude was definitely championed by my supervisor at AustCham Korea, Executive DirectoRowan Petz. On day one, Rowan told me how much I would learn in Korea if I went into every experience with a positive attitude and no expectation of outcomes, and he couldn't have been more right. On a personal level, this mindset allowed me to experience something new every single day I was in Korea. I truly had a "say yes" attitude, and it allowed me to meet different people, eat different foods, and find myself in areas that I would never have been in back home.
Day-to-day, I was conducting market research into the bilateral relationship between Australia and Korea. It was fascinating to see which deals and articles caused interest amongst the community. I could not have asked for better mentors than the AustCham team. They immediately took me in and continually gave me fantastic opportunities to say yes to. From attending networking events, membership meetings, and CSR days, it was a fantastic opportunity. Learning from each member of team AustCham was a privilege and something I will bring with me every step in my career.
The GABI program is extremely well-structured and is the best experience I have had during my university degree. It has made me more knowledgeable, more confident, and more employable. I highly recommend this experience to every student I meet.

Global internship with AustCham Korea, Seoul 2023

Industry partner testimonial

Over the years, AustCham Korea has hosted numerous interns; among them, Liam has distinguished himself as one of the most exemplary. From the outset, he seamlessly integrated with our team, demonstrating a level of engagement and contribution more akin to a full team member than an intern. Liam's proactive, positive, and motivated approach ensured the successful completion of all tasks assigned to him, regardless of complexity. His respectfulness and adaptability in liaising with senior business and government officials have made him a valuable team member.
Given the opportunity, I would not hesitate to offer him a full-time position within our organisation. Liam's intelligence, passion, strong work ethic, personability, and team-oriented mindset position him as a significant asset to any future employer.
Based on our positive experience with Liam and other interns from this program, we highly recommend the Griffith Asia Business Internship Program to any business leader or organisation.
