Propelling Asia and the Pacific to become global leaders in sustainable development
Griffith Asia Institute (GAI) is an interdisciplinary research institute at Griffith University addressing new opportunities and major challenges in Asia and the Pacific to foster the region’s progress and leadership in sustainable development.
GAI is dedicated to creating societal and academic impact through research excellence, partnership, capacity building, and engagement on strategic issues, such as sustainable economics, business and finance, policy and governance, international relations, as well as inclusive and rural development.
We embrace the complexity and diversity of the Asia-Pacific region, with an emphasis on the strategic trends and dynamics that impact on regional order. Our inter-disciplinary advantage lies in Griffith University’s commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across the region through comprehensive initiatives that promote economic prosperity, social inclusion, environmental sustainability and good governance for all.
