The IRU works in collaboration with the Griffith Graduate Research School and the GUMURRII Student Success Unit to identify research activities and create opportunities for the University’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander HDR cohort.

Research ethics and integrity at Griffith
The Griffith University Research Ethics Manual provides researchers with specific guidelines on research ethics and advice on human research activities.

- UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples The Declaration establishes a universal framework of minimum standards for the survival, dignity and well-being of the Indigenous peoples of the world and it elaborates on existing human rights standards and fundamental freedoms as they apply to Indigenous peoples.
- National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research ARC, the NHMRC and UA, jointly developed a series of guidelines on ethical conduct in human research.

- Protocols for Working with Indigenous Artists Australia Council for the Arts has produced a range of Protocol guides (Music, Writing, Visual Arts, Media Arts and Performing Arts) for those working with Indigenous artists.
- Our Knowledge Our Way in caring for Country The CSIRO in collaboration with over 100 Indigenous communities and organisations has produced Guidelines for Indigenous-led approaches to strengthening and sharing Indigenous knowledge for land and sea management.

GUMURRII Student Success Unit
The GUMURRII Student Success Unit has dedicated staff who provide advice, support and tutorial assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander postgraduate students studying, or interested in studying, at Griffith University.
First Peoples Health Unit
The First Peoples Health Unit conducts research in partnership with community, industry, health services, clinicians, patients and their families to maximise the benefits for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and contribute to effective and sustainable health service delivery.
Griffith Graduate Research School
Griffith Graduate Research School provides a number of resources to assist HDR students progress through their candidature, including access to research methodologist and research statistician support, and training and development workshops.

Researcher Education and Development
The RED team conducts research development workshops, including the Indigenous Research and Knowledge Seminar Series, and provides advice and resources to develop the capacity of our researchers.
