Sustainable Development Goals

Koala Guardians
Partnering with Social Marketing @ Griffith and 12 Local Councils, this ongoing citizen science project promotes koala conservation in Southeast Queensland. The initiative engages the community in reporting koala sightings, enhancing data collection for effective conservation strategies.
Pharmacy Guild
Produced in partnership with Henry Ergas AO and Tulipwood Economics, this independent report reviews the Australian Government's 60-day dispensing policy. It provides insights into the policy's implications for pharmacy practice and patient care in Australia.
Giving in Australia
A collaboration between Griffith University, and La Trobe University using ATO and QUT data, this project provides insights into charitable donations across Australia, showcasing statistics on tax deductions and gift sizes through an interactive map.
NAPLAN Achievement Data Explorer
In partnership with Griffith University's Indigenous Research Unit, this project visualises Indigenous students' performance in NAPLAN from a rights-based perspective. It highlights trends relative to peers across grades and regions from 2010 to 2019.
NDIS Recommendations
Collaborating with Justice and Equity Centre, this project tracks recommendations from various inquiries into the NDIS since 2016. It provides summaries of government responses and implementation statuses for stakeholders interested in disability services reform.
Engage Asia
This dashboard explores Australia’s diplomatic engagements and economic relations with select Asian countries, including China, India, Indonesia, and Vietnam. It organises data on trade and movement, providing insights into visa, student, business, and tourist statistics.
Energy Grid
Developed in partnership with Dr. Phillip Wild and Griffith’s Centre for Applied Energy Economics and Policy Research (CAEEPR), this public-facing dashboard visualises marginal loss factor (MLF) data to inform energy policy discussions.
DSpark Ecotourism
In collaboration with the Queensland Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport (DTIS) and DSpark, this pilot project uses mobility intelligence data to analyse COVID-19's impact on visitor trends.
DSpark Prepare and Respond
In collaboration with Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES), RIDL piloted the use of DSpark mobility data to identify critical gaps in understanding human movement during emergencies, using the September 2019 fires in Peregian Beach and the COVID-19 lockdowns as case studies.
