What is a student ID card?
Your student ID card officially identifies you as a Griffith student and is required to:
- use the library
- access concessions in and around the campus
- identify you at on-campus activities, such as exams
- receive student discounts and travel concessions.
You can order your student ID card online following the steps below.
Have a photo and your ID ready
Before you order your student ID card online, you will need a copy of your current photo identification ready, such as your drivers' licence or passport.
You will also need to take a photo of yourself from your webcam, or upload a suitable photo of yourself that:
- is not digitally altered or manipulated (for example, photo edited to remove spots or add filters)
- is a good quality colour print, less than 12 months old
- has your head and face in the centre with a clear gap around the sides of your head and hair
- has a plain, light coloured-background
- has no head bands or head covering (except on religious grounds)
- has eyes showing clearly through glasses, with no reflection
- has no sunglasses or glasses with tinted lenses that obscure the eyes.
Order your ID card online
Once you are enrolled, you can order your student ID card online:
- Go to the Griffith ID card application.
- Verify your identity by uploading a copy of your current photo identification (for example, your drivers' licence).
- Upload a suitable photo or take one from your webcam.
- Select where you would like to collect your ID card. Please note:
- Nathan and Gold Coast and students: select Self-Serve ID Kiosk as your ID pick up location. You will receive a QR code in your confirmation email, which you can use to collect your student ID card from an ID Kiosk located at the Nathan campus (N53 Nathan Library Willet Centre) or the Gold campus (G112.50 Learning Commons computer lab).
- Mt Gravatt, Logan, QCA (including Griffith Film School), Doctor of Medicine, QCGU, OUA or Offshore students, your ID card will be posted to your address listed in myGriffith. Please ensure your details are up to date before submitting your application.
- Submit for approval.
Once approved, you will receive a confirmation email. Please allow up to five business days for your application to be approved, plus additional delivery time via Australia Post.
