Greg Vickery AO FAICD is a Senior Consultant at Norton Rose Fulbright a global law firm and is based in their Brisbane office and was for 40 years a partner of the firm. He is a company and resources lawyer with a special interest and experience in corporate governance.
He has been a Red Cross volunteer for almost 50 years and has filled a variety of roles there including 8 years as National President of Australian Red Cross, 6 years on the Governing Board of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and most recently 8 years on the prestigious international Standing Commission of Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies which he had the honour to chair for 4 years and for which he was awarded the status of Officer of the Order of Australia in 2013. He was awarded the UQ Vice Chancellor’s Alumni Excellence Award in 2016. He has served on the boards of several companies including at present the Blue Economy CRC and Burrell’s Stockbroking and Wealth Management. Previously he was for 10 years on the influential Federal Government body CAMAC which advised Treasury on the regulation of Companies and Markets.
He was for 7 years the Indonesian Honorary Consul in Queensland and is a long-term member and patron of the Australian Indonesian Business Council. He was the President of the Queensland Law Society in 1990 and has served on many legal professional committees since then. He is currently the Chair of the Law Council of Australia’s Business & Human Rights Committee and is also a member of the Federal Government’s Modern Slavery Act Expert Advisory Group. He is married to a retired doctor and they have 3 children (all lawyers) and 7 wonderful grandchildren.
