Griffith University, Oceania Australia Foundation and Oceania Athletics Association are committed to providing aspiring athletes studying business with the knowledge and skills to develop their careers. They have joined forces to support a scholarship to provide an opportunity for one promising athlete from the Oceania region, commencing in 2024, to develop their athletic potential whilst completing a three year Bachelor of Business degree at Griffith University Gold Coast campus.
The scholarship will offer a 100%, full tuition fee waiver for a Bachelor of Business, accommodation and living expenses of approximately $25,000 per year for the term of the scholarship, single Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) and one economy return flight per year to the maximum value of $1,500.

Eligibility
To be eligible you must:
- Be an international student from the Oceania region, competing in the sport of track and field. Citizen of: American Samoa, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Norfolk Island, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu or Vanuatu.
- Have demonstrated high achievement in your chosen sport and be currently competing at national or international level.
- Have applied and be eligible for admission into the Bachelor of Business offered on the Gold Coast campus by the scholarship closing date.
- Be a full-time student commencing in Trimester 1 or 2, 2024.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.

Process
- Apply to study the Bachelor of Business at Griffith University Gold Coast campus.
- Apply for the scholarship by the closing date. You will need to include academic records, proof of standing in your chosen sport and a personal statement that outlines your reasons for applying for the scholarship and any information that you feel supports your application. Your personal statement should be 200 - 400 words.
- Your scholarship application will be reviewed and assessed by a panel and may include an interview. Any decision made by the selection panel will be final.
- You will be advised of the outcome of your application.
Receiving the scholarship
- To receive the scholarship you will need to accept both your program offer and the scholarship by the deadline. If you don’t accept the scholarship by the date specified in your Scholarship Offer, the scholarship will be withdrawn.
- Once you start studying at Griffith the scholarship will be applied prior to the census date of each trimester on meeting the ongoing enrolment requirements (see below).
- To maintain the scholarship you must be enrolled full-time (40 + 40 or 30 + 30 + 20), unless credit from previous study prevents full-time enrolment.
Terms and conditions
The recipients may hold the Scholarship subject to:
- Meeting Griffith University academic and English language entry requirements for the Bachelor of Business program.
- Students must be International Fee Paying to qualify for the scholarship and each scholarship deduction. Any change from International Fee-Paying student status will result in the scholarship being withdrawn.
- Not available for the online or Nathan campus offerings.
- Deferral of the Scholarship beyond 2024 is not permitted.
- The recipient may be invited to meet with the donor and feature in marketing materials to promote the Scholarship.
Ongoing enrolment requirements
- Students must maintain their enrolment at the Gold Coast campus either 40 + 40 credit points for 2 trimesters or 30 + 30 + 20 credit points per trimester in each Academic year.
- Students must remain enrolled in the program for which the scholarship offer was made, which is stated on the Letter of Offer issued by Griffith International Admissions.
- Should a student withdraw or cancel for any reason, the scholarship amount is non-refundable.
- To maintain scholarship eligibility, students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 4.0 on a 7.0 point grading scale to qualify for each tuition fee deduction to be applied in the following trimester of enrolment.
- A scholarship recipient may take leave of absence in consultation with all parties in accordance with University policy. Scholarship benefits are suspended for the period of leave of absence.
- A scholarship recipient who is not enrolled in compulsory trimesters and is not on an approved leave of absence will have the scholarship withdrawn.
- The scholarship recipient is expected to maintain an appropriate status in their sport of athletics and submit sporting performance reports on a trimester basis to Griffith Sports College.
