We want the application process to be as simple as possible so we have included information to help you easily complete common admission procedures - from submitting an application, through to helping your student accept their Letter of Offer.

Choose a program
Undergraduate and postgraduate degrees
Step 1: Find a degree
Identify what degree the student would like to study. If the student is unsure of what to study, use our study website. If you know the exact program your student wants to study, use our degree finder.
Step 2: Check eligibility requirements
Check that the student meets the entry requirements for the degree or identify suitable pathway options.

Step 3: Confirm GTE / GS status
Confirm that the student meets Genuine Temporary Entry (GTE) and Genuine Student (GS) status.
Step 4: Check credit eligibility
Identify if the student is eligible for credit.
If the student would like to apply for credit, choose ‘Yes’ when asked ‘Would you like to be considered for a credit exemption on the basis of your prior tertiary study’ in Studylink Connect. If the application is approved, the Letter of Offer will provide information on how much credit the student is eligible for.
Step 5: Collect documentation
Collect and certify* all relevant student documentation, which could include:
- academic results (translated into English if applicable)
- English test results (if available)
- details page of passport
- any other supporting documentation required for the application, including course outlines for credit assessment. Students who are applying for a music or visual arts degree may need to submit a portfolio of work, or audition (see individual degree for details).
* A certified copy is a photocopy or scanned copy of an original document with an official stamp and signature from your agency.
Step 6: Apply online
Submit the student’s application and supporting documentation through Studylink Connect.
Research degrees
Step 1: Find a degree
Griffith has a range of research degrees for students who want to undertake research.
Step 2: Check eligibility requirements
Check that the student meets the entry requirements or identify suitable research pathway options.
Step 3: Confirm GTE / GS status
Confirm that the student meets Genuine Temporary Entry (GTE) and Genuine Student (GS) status.
Step 4: Develop a research proposal
A student's research question will provide the key research focus for the full duration of their degree. A research proposal must be developed to outline the student’s intended topic of research.

Step 5: Find and connect with a research supervisor
Students need to find a supervisor who works in their area of interest.
Step 6: Explore scholarship options
Research scholarships can cover tuition fees, living allowances paid as stipends, relocation and thesis allowances.
Step 7: Collect documentation
Collect and certify* all relevant student documentation, which could include:
- academic results (translated into English if applicable)
- English test results (if available)
- details page of passport
- any other supporting documentation required for the application.

Step 8: Apply online
Submit the student’s application through the research online portal.
Step 9: Accept
If the application is approved by the Dean, Griffith Graduate Research School, applicants will receive a Letter of Offer for higher degree research candidature.
Students must follow these steps to accept their Letter of Offer:
- Nominate an intake date for commencement. HDR candidates generally have four intakes per year. See important dates.
- Return all documents to the Griffith Graduate Research School as requested in the Letter of Offer.
- Pay the total deposit fee online through Western Union GlobalPay and quote the Griffith student ID number. Students have the option to pay via telegraphic transfer or credit card. Students who make a telegraphic transfer payment will need to attach a copy of their bank receipt to their Acceptance of Offer form.
English language programs
Step 1: Find a program
Identify a suitable program based on the study goals of the student. Most students who are interested in progressing to a Griffith University degree or Griffith College diploma will apply for the Direct Entry Program.
Step 2: Confirm GTE / GS status
Confirm that the student meets Genuine Temporary Entry (GTE) and Genuine Student (GS) status.
Step 3: Collect documentation
Collect and certify* all relevant student documentation, which could include:
- academic results (translated into English if applicable)
- English test results (if available)
- details page of passport
- any other supporting documentation required for the application.
* A certified copy is a photocopy or scanned copy of an original document with an official stamp and signature from your agency.
Step 4: Apply online
Submit the student’s application through Studylink Connect.
For an English and degree combined application, the Griffith International Admissions team will send you the Letter of Offer. For an English program only application, Griffith English Language Institute (GELI) will send you the Letter of Offer.
Study Abroad program
Step 1: Check eligibility requirements
Identify if your student meets the academic and English entry requirements for the Study Abroad program.
Step 2: Confirm GTE / GS status
Confirm that the student meets Genuine Temporary Entry (GTE) and Genuine Student (GS) status.
Step 3: Select courses
Explore the unique options available within our Study Abroad program including the Community Internship course, English + University and Specialised Trimesters.

Step 4: Collect documentation
Collect and certify* all relevant student documentation, which could include:
- latest copy of official academic transcript (translated into English if applicable)
- English test results (if required)
- details page of passport
- any other supporting documentation required for the application. Students who choose to study fine art or photography at the South Bank campus may be required to submit a portfolio.

Step 5: Apply online
Submit the student’s application through Studylink Connect.
Griffith English Test
If you do not hold a proficiency test result (e.g. IELTS), take our free online English test to find your English class level
Accepting an offer
Follow these procedures to help your student accept their offer for undergraduate and postgraduate degree coursework, English language and Study Abroad program applications.
We will email you as soon as we have issued the Letter of Offer. How to accept the Letter of Offer will depend on when it was issued.
Offers issued:
Step 1: Confirm all details
When you receive the Notification of Offer, you can login to the Studylink Connect portal to view the Letter of Offer and share it with your student. Please ensure:
- all details in the Letter of Offer are correct
- the student has read and understood each section of the Letter of Offer
- the student has the funds to cover the cost of studying including tuition fees and living expenses
- the student understands the Fees and Charges Policy (PDF)
- the student has provided relevant documentation to show that they meet any conditions outlined in the Letter of Offer (if applicable)
- if the student is under 18 years, they must read the under 18 years of age information (PDF) about commencing at Griffith University.
Step 2: Complete the Acceptance of Offer Form
To accept, the student must:
- understand and agree to all the terms and conditions of their Letter of Offer
- accept their Letter of Offer by completing and signing the Acceptance of Offer Form provided in their Letter of Offer
- provide all outstanding documentation (if required).
Note: This acceptance form must be completed and signed by them.
Step 3: Accept Offer and Pay
To finish the Accept Offer and Pay steps:
- login to StudyLink Connect and select the 'Respond to Offer' button
- choose the 'Accept Offer' option
- upload the completed Acceptance of Offer Form and any other outstanding documentation
- enter any additional information in the comments section
- complete the deposit payment steps or provide the Payment URL to the student so they can make the payment. The Payment URL can be found in the Application Summary page
- Click on 'Accept Offer' to finalise transaction.
Students can pay by telegraphic transfer or credit card. Students who pay by telegraphic transfer will need to attach a copy of their bank receipt to their application in StudyLink Connect.
Step 4: Acceptance complete
Once the Acceptance of Offer process is complete, the application status will update and an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) can be issued (if applicable).
Step 1: Confirm all details
Once a Letter of Offer has been issued, please ensure:
- all details in the Letter of Offer are correct
- the student has read and understood each section of the Letter of Offer
- the student has the funds to cover the cost of studying including tuition fees and living expenses
- the student understands the Fees and Charges Policy (PDF)
- the student has provided relevant documentation to show that they meet any conditions outlined in their Letter of Offer (if applicable)
- the student has read important information about commencing at Griffith University if they are under 18 years of age (PDF) (if applicable).
Step 2: Check email
When the Letter of Offer is issued by Griffith, you will be notified by email that the offer is available in the Studylink portal. You will also receive a second email with instructions on how the student can accept their Letter of Offer, and a secure link to ‘Generate a New Password’.
Step 3: Forward email
Forward the email containing the instructions on how to accept the Letter of Offer to the student. You must use the same student email address submitted with their application.
Step 4: Students login to Studylink
The student must click on the secure link in the email to make a new password. They must then login to the portal using their email address as their username, and their new password.
Step 5: Students respond to offer
Students can accept their Letter of Offer online by choosing the ‘Respond to Offer’ option under ‘Action’ within the StudyLink portal.
Students must understand and agree to all the terms and conditions of their offer and attach all outstanding documentation (if required).
Step 6: Students ‘Accept and Pay’
Students will then select ‘Accept and Pay’ and be redirected to Western Union GlobalPay to pay their total deposit fees, as listed in their Letter of Offer. Students have the option to pay via telegraphic transfer or credit card. Students who make a telegraphic transfer payment will need to attach a copy of their bank receipt to their application in Studylink.
After acceptance
Overseas Student Health Cover
Students are required to have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of their student visa. Evidence of OSHC must be provided when applying for a student visa.
Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE)
Once the student has met all requirements and Griffith has received all necessary documentation, the student will receive an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE). This document is used for online student visa applications.
Student visa
Most international students are required to hold a valid Australian visa for the duration of their study in Australia. Some English language students however, can choose to study on a student visa or non-student visa.
Preparing for Griffith
To help students get ready for Griffith and their arrival in Australia, they can complete myOrientation before leaving home.
myOrientation provides personalised information to help with enrolling, arriving in Australia, getting a student card and more. Students can complete myOrientation by logging into myGriffith.
Undergraduate and postgraduate (coursework) students
If your application is at assessment or offer stage, you can request a change of program for the applicant through StudyLink Connect by following the steps below:
- Login to StudyLink Connect using your agent login details
- Locate the applicant record and open the existing application
- Click on ‘Send Message’
- Request the change of program from your Admissions Officer via the email message including details of the new trimester intake being requested
- Upload any additional documents to support this request (where relevant).
Your Admissions Officer will assess the change of program request and contact you with an outcome as soon as possible.
International sponsored students
International sponsored students need to obtain permission from their sponsor to change their degree. You must ensure your student has permission before requesting a change of degree and you are required to submit their permission document along with their application.
Study Abroad students
If your student wants to extend or reduce the duration of their Study Abroad program, please request this change for the applicant through StudyLink Connect by following the steps below:
- Login to StudyLink Connect using your agent login details
- Locate the applicant record and open the existing application
- Click on 'Send Message'
- Request the extension or reduction of duration from your Admissions Officer via the email message
If one of your students contact us directly to discuss extending or reducing their Study Abroad program, we will let you know. We will refer them back to you for consultation and advice.
Deferring an offer
Deferral requests can only be considered prior to the applicant's program commencement date. The process you need to follow will depend on when the applicant is requesting to defer their offer. Deferral may not be available in degrees where admission is based on special selection criteria. Check the degree finder for details.
Undergraduate, postgraduate (coursework), Study Abroad and English language program students
If there are no special criteria outlined in degree finder, proceed to request a deferral for the next available intake by following the steps below:
If your applicant has received an offer:
- Login to StudyLink Connect using your agent login details
- Go to the 'Applicants' tab
- Type your applicant's last name and select 'Search'
- Locate the applicant record and open the existing application
- Locate the existing offer and select ‘Respond to Offer’
- Select ‘Defer Offer’
- Enter the new trimester intake required
- Upload any additional documents or provide comments to support this request (where relevant)
- Select 'Defer Offer' to finalise your request
- Your Admissions officer will assess the deferral request and contact you with an outcome as soon as possible.
If the application is still under assessment:
- Login to StudyLink Connect using your agent login details
- Locate the applicant record and open the existing application
- Select ‘Send Message’
- Request the deferral from your Admissions Officer via the email message including details of the new trimester intake being requested
- Your Admissions Officer will assess the deferral request and contact you with an outcome as soon as possible.
Applying to transfer provider
The Griffith University International Student Provider Transfer Request Policy and Procedure outlines the eligibility requirements and how to apply for a student's release from Griffith when they wish to transfer to another CRICOS registered provider in Australia.
Applying for a refund
The Griffith University Fees and Charges Policy outlines international students’ entitlement to a refund of fees and relevant processes, as required under the ESOS Act and National Code.
To establish the student’s eligibility for refund please refer to sections 3.6.1, 3.6.2 or 3.6.3 in the Fees and Charges Policy (PDF).
Students with a username and password
If your student has a Griffith University username and password, they should complete an online form.
Students without a username and password
If your student does not have a Griffith University username and password they should:
- download the Request for Refund of Fees form (PDF)
- submit the form to their on-campus Student Centre, or email it to the relevant Griffith team.
Undergraduate, postgraduate (coursework), Study Abroad and English language program students
If an applicant wants to decline their offer, follow the steps below:
- Login to StudyLink Connect using your agent login details
- Go to the 'Applicants' tab
- Type your applicant's last name and select 'Search'
- Locate the applicant record and open the existing application
- Locate the existing offer and select ‘Respond to Offer’
- Select ‘Decline Offer’
- Provide the reason for non-acceptance
- Select 'Reject Offer' to finalise your request.
Application escalation process
In situations that you feel you are experiencing significant delays or need a more urgent response from your Admissions Officer, please escalate matters to the International Admissions Coordinator. In the event that an outcome is further delayed, the next escalation point is the Manager, International Admissions and Compliance, Kim Comerford.
