What you can study
Griffith has an extensive and diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses to choose from. You can select courses from most study areas, programs and year levels. However, some study areas are restricted or are not available (see below).
How to search for courses
The steps below will help you find courses available at Griffith. Please note that course profiles are not usually updated until one month prior to the start of classes. Please use the previous year as a guide as it is unlikely that there will be any significant changes year to year. Review our list of restricted courses before starting your course search.
Search by course finder
1. Visit the course finder.
2. Enter a keyword relating to a course and select the search icon.
Example: ‘business’, ‘risk management’, ‘digital design’.
3. Refine results by selecting options in the left hand column including campus, study level and commencing trimester.
4. Click on course to see the course details.
5. Ensure the content displayed is relevant for international students by choosing 'I am an international student' in the 'Personalised by' filter under the course name.
6. The summary at the top of the page will contain key information about the course. Hint: the information under 'offered' will give you an indication of when the course is usually offered. For example, if it says '2022 Trimester 1, Gold Coast campus’, then it is likely it will be available at the Gold Coast campus in Trimester 1 2023.
7. For more detailed information including prerequisites, select 'About' in the navigation bar, then ‘view course profiles’. You will need to meet any prerequisite requirements to be eligible to enrol in courses.

How many courses can I study?
At Griffith, a typical full-time study load is 30 to 40 credit points (CP). One course (subject) is usually worth 10CP. You can choose from the following options per trimester:
- 30CP - generally 3 courses
- 40CP - generally 4 courses
For onshore students, you must enrol in a minimum of 30CP to comply with student visa requirements. If you hold a student visa, you can only study online for one third of your total program. This means that if you are enrolled in 30 credit points (cp), you can only complete one 10cp course via online study.
What's the course equivalent at my home university?
Typically, 10CP at Griffith is equivalent to:
- 3 to 4 credits in the US system
- 7.5 ECTS in the European System
