GUMURRII is a dedicated support unit for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff assist students from recruitment, orientation to graduation: providing undergraduate and postgraduate support, including tutorial assistance.
Servicing on each of Griffith's campuses, with officers who also assist online students studying through the digital campus, GUMURRII Student Success Unit offers a safe and culturally appropriate environment to enhance the student experience.

Depending on what you wish to study, Griffith has multiple pathways for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders interested in enrolling in a Griffith degree. Community outreach
The GUMURRII Outreach and Engagement program seeks to raise aspirations and widen the participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in higher education. The Indigenous Engagement team focuses on delivering initiatives that increase the academic preparedness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples prior to tertiary studies.
The program includes a range of on-campus experiences and events such as the Deadly STEM Camp on our Gold Coast campus. The team also deliver workshops and information sessions on pathways to study and the GUMURRII Student Success Unit to schools and the community.
"Griffith is an exciting place to start your career
Griffith is set up to ensure that students individual needs are met, and that goals are supported realistically through the support systems available. Griffith is quite a culturally diverse space that safely allows for expression of individuality. I don't think I would rather be studying anywhere else to be honest."
