Applying to join the Student Academy of Excellence
How you apply for Student Academy of Excellence admission depends on whether you're a future or current Griffith student.
Information for future students
Secondary schools initiative
Griffith is proud to build on existing relationships with several schools by providing opportunities for enrichment and development for high-achieving students through Student Academy of Excellence membership.
To be considered for membership, students must:
- be nominated by their school
- maintain high academic achievement
- demonstrate a desire and commitment to embrace the opportunities provided.
Future student eligibility
To be considered for membership, you must have:
- listed Griffith University as a preference on your QTAC or UAC application
- receive an unadjusted ATAR of 95.45 or above (or equivalent rank OP 3 or above, and IB 37 or above). Griffith may use your Educational Disadvantage Assessment score* to adjust your ATAR rank
- submitted your completed Vice Chancellor's Academic Achievement Scholarship online application form by the due date.
International and non-school leavers
Non-school leavers and international students who did not complete Year 11 and 12 in Australia, therefore do not meet the criteria for the Vice Chancellor's Academic Achievement Scholarship, may still be eligible to apply for membership of the Student Academy of Excellence.

- submitted your completed Deans' Sir Samuel Griffith Scholarship, Sir Samuel Griffith Scholarship and Griffith Honours College combined online application form by the due date.
International students and non-school leavers
Non-school leavers and international students who did not complete Year 11 and 12 in Australia, therefore do not meet the criteria for the Deans' Sir Samuel Griffith and Sir Samuel Griffith Scholarships, may still be eligible to apply for membership of the Griffith Honours College.

Vice Chancellor's Academic Achievement Scholarship
Griffith offers these respected scholarships to outstanding students commencing their first-ever undergraduate degree in 2024.
The Vice Chancellor's Academic Achievement Scholarships will be focused on excellence and will also consider the barriers to education that students have faced.
Scholarship recipients will also be offered membership to the Student Academy of Excellence. Conditions apply. See below for details.
Applications close for Trimester 1 2025 Round 1: 4pm Monday 16 December 2024.
Applications close for Trimester 1 2025 Round 2: 4pm Tuesday 28 January 2025.
Information for current students
Eligibility criteria
To be considered for selection as a current student, you must:
- have completed a minimum of 40 credit points towards your undergraduate degree at Griffith University
- have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 6.5 out of 7 (your cumulative GPA is a summation over all attempts in all courses over all trimesters whilst you have been enrolled). The summation is cumulative across programs
- receive a recommendation from an academic staff member
- complete the application process by the due date.
How to apply
Admission to the Student Academy of Excellence is limited and highly competitive. Selection will be based on a combination of academic and personal achievement.
