Rural students required for medicine

A number of Commonwealth Supported Places are set aside for students from rural backgrounds.

You will develop knowledge and skills in the biological sciences and clinical sciences and understand how they can be applied to medicine and biomedical research.

Graduate entry pathway for Doctor of Medicine application process

The domestic application process into the graduate entry Doctor of Medicine program at Griffith University takes 12 months and is outlined below:

Classes start for the Doctor of Medicine

[*] GAMSAT: you need to achieve a minimum score of 50 in each section test and have a minimum overall score of 50. Results are valid for four years. Test sittings occur twice a year, however, results from the March 2024 sitting will be available for applicants applying via GEMSAS for Trimester 1 2025 intake.
[^] Applicants are invited to GUMSAA based on an interview selection rank derived from a 50/50 combination of their GPA (unweighted) and overall GAMSAT score.
[#] Offer ranks are calculated 50:50 on interview score and interview selection rank.

Note: This process applies to university graduates or to students in the final year of their undergraduate Bachelor degree. You will sit the GAMSAT prior to applying via GEMSAS for the University’s Doctor of Medicine program. Students transitioning from the Bachelor of Medical Science at Griffith University or the University of Sunshine Coast are eligible for direct entry to the Doctor of Medicine and do not sit GAMSAT or attend GUMSAA .
