Associate Professor Lara Farrell
Associate Professor Lara Farrell founded the OCD Busters research program at Griffith University in 2008 and is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years' experience in treating children and youth with OCD, anxiety and phobias. She has been published in over 75 peer reviewed scientific papers and has received over $3.2 million in research funding for her innovative treatment programs. Overt the past 10 years, she has successfully treated over 400 children with OCD and/or phobia as well as providing supervision and training to both students and practising clinicians throughout Australia. She has a strong international reputation and holds various Editor roles for renowned scientific journals and is regularly featured in the media.
Matthew McKenzie Registered Psychologist
Matthew McKenzie is a registered psychologist and clinical researcher working our OCD and Phobias Clinic. He completed his Masters in Clinical Psychology in 2010 at the University of the West Indies (Jamaica) and is currently in his final year of his PhD in clinical psychology at Griffith University focussing on the treatment of paediatric OCD. Matthew has a natural ability to build rapport with his clients and this ensures the best treatment outcomes for children he treats and their parents.
Taka Miyamoto Registered Psychologist
Taka Miyamoto is a registered psychologist and completed his \Masters in Clinical Psychology in 2018 at Griffith University. As part of his research thesis, he looked at treating Specific Phobia of Dogs using Virtual Reality in children and gained a variety of experience throughout his Masters program in a variety of settings including university health and research centres and schools.
