Why is this study being conducted?
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of an orally administered probiotic supplement on the immune system and in reducing symptoms of upper respiratory infectious diseases in healthy adults.
Who is eligible to participate in this study?
You may be eligible if you:
- Are between 18 - 60 years of age
- Are in good health and a non-smoker
- Have been vaccinated against COVID-19
Applicants who express interest in participating in this study will be reviewed and contacted as other requirement criteria must also be met.
What happens during the study?
Trial duration will be up to 8 weeks and participants will have about 3 trial visits
Trial site visits will occur at the Griffith University Clinical Trial Unit on the Gold Coast.
You will take 1 tablet of either the probiotic supplement or placebo daily for 4 weeks during the trial.
You will have weekly phone calls during the trial.
Volunteer to participate
Participation in this study is completely voluntary, and participants can decide to withdraw at any time.
Eligible participants will be reimbursed for their time and travel associated with each study visit.
