A/Prof Michael Nissen is a well-versed consultant clinician and academic in Infectious Diseases, Microbiology and Paediatrics. Prior to his current role, he was Director of Pharmacovigilence for CoVID-19 vaccines and Principal Medical Officer, TGA, Australian Government. His past experience includes Director of Scientific Affairs and Public Health for GSK Vaccines, Director of the Infection Management Prevention Service at the Royal Children’s Hospital-Brisbane, Clinical Microbiologist for Pathology Queensland at Royal Brisbane & Women’ Hospital and Co-Director of the Queensland Paediatric Infectious Diseases Laboratory and Clinical Trials Unit. He has led over 40 clinical trials including Phase I studies and has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications relating to infectious diseases, microbiology and vaccine studies.
