Engaging with impact
Cultural safety and its impact on the recruitment and retention of Indigenous Australian employees
This project aims to identify and examine the characteristics of culturally safe and inclusive Indigenous workplaces as a part of a continuing contribution to the 'Closing the Gap' agenda. The findings from this project will be used to identify priority actions that will improve the cultural inclusiveness and accessibility of the Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD’s workplaces and work practices.
Optimising the occupational wellbeing of Australian healthcare workers
Chronic occupational stress is identified as a significant problem that costs the Australian economy $15 billion annually, with $5 billion attributed to lost performance. The research project aims to evaluate and enhance UnitingCare's workplace wellness strategy, with the ultimate goal of improving the wellbeing of healthcare workers in Australia. The research findings are expected to be relevant to other healthcare organisations and industries with occupational wellbeing programs.
Addressing the Gap in Information Security - An HR-Centric and AI-Driven Framework for Mitigating Insider Threats
This research highlights the dangers posed by insider threats to information security and presents key findings from a Leximancer based analysis of a rapid literature review on the role, nature, and contribution of HRM for information security. The study also discusses the limitations of HRM solutions and proposes an HR-in-the-Loop model driven by artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to mitigate these limitations.

Our strong relationships with partners in business, government and the community unlock mutually beneficial opportunities and practical solutions. These relationships play an important part in ensuring our graduates meet the demands of employers.
We work with our partners to:

Study in Fiji
Our two-week study tour focuses on the management of human resources in organisations, and features briefing sessions on business practices in Fiji, academic lectures and workshops relating to HRM, industry visits and cultural tours.
Students come away from the experience with a capacity to create solutions to workplace problems through the application and analysis of HRM principles, concepts and theories relevant to the Asia-Pacific region.
It was such an amazing opportunity to put what we have learnt into real world experiences … immersing ourselves in Fijian culture and applying HR principles in real life experiences was an opportunity we'll all be grateful for. Learning from industry experts and how they approach challenges and opportunities is knowledge that can't always be learnt in a classroom.
