The Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics offers internationally recognised degrees in accounting, banking, business law, business statistics, economics, finance, financial planning and taxation.

Engaging with impact
Providing free tax assistance
The Griffith Tax Clinic has celebrated three years of providing free assistance to the community. The clinic allows students under supervision to provide assistance to locals in helping them complete their tax returns, as well as negotiate with the Tax Office on their behalf.
Financial micro-credentials
Five hundred Commonwealth Bank of Australia ( CBA ) employees are the first to embark on a Griffith University upskilling program, helping the banking industry to detect and disrupt organised crime.
Women in Banking and Finance
We are a member of Women in Banking and Finance, a not-for-profit membership association dedicated to advancing the representation of female leaders in the banking and finance sector. As a member, our students have access to a range of resources and events.

Student opportunities
Student Investment Fund
We are investing in the next generation of business leaders. The Student Investment Fund provides outstanding finance students with access to Queensland’s largest student managed investment fund, totalling $250,000.
Finance students can enrol in a course where they analyse, evaluate and invest in socially responsible, ASX listed companies.
Work-integrated learning
Undertaking an internship can be a highly enriching experience for both students and employers. It's an opportunity for students to apply the theory they've learn at university to a practical, real world experience.
The Department offers a range of internship opportunities and partnership with students and industry, in the disciplines of Accounting, Finance and Economics.
Griffith Tax Clinic
The Tax Clinic provides free tax assistance to help the community navigate Australia's complex tax system. It is a friendly, student-run clinic where you will receive advice from accounting, finance and economics taxation students under the supervision of experienced tax practitioners. The clinic also provides students the opportunity to engage in case work directly relevant to their chosen career; as well as play an important part in assisting otherwise unrepresented taxpayers.

The Griffith Centre for Personal Finance and Superannuation undertakes innovative and high quality research projects in order to understand consumer investment, spending and general household financial management behaviour.
