Professor Caitlin Byrne
Caitlin began her professional career as a diplomat with the Australian Government. Having spent the past five years leading the University's research and engagement agenda related to strategic developments in Asia and the Pacific as Director of the Griffith Asia Institute, Caitlin brings a global leadership outlook to Griffith Business School.

First Peoples
Griffith University and Griffith Business School have a long relationship with local and national First Peoples through our learning and teaching, research and engagement. Our commitment to supporting First Peoples is achieved by creating cultural equity and understanding in the communities we serve.
Learning and teaching
We are committed to enhancing our First Peoples success through initiatives such as indigenising the curriculum in a number of our degrees, and offering a range of First Peoples scholarships to support and enhance student experience.
In 2025, the National Indigenous Business Summer School (NIBSS) program will be hosted across Meanjin (Brisbane) and the Yugambeh region (Gold Coast) in conjunction with GUMURRII and partner universities.
Research
We are committed to improving First Peoples research impact, employment capacity and opportunities for First Peoples researchers through many initiatives including and ARC Indigenous Project and an Indigenous Reseach Careers Symposium.
