Sustainable Development Goals

Indigenous Cultural Competency Workshops
Griffith has implemented multiple modes of Cultural Competency training for staff, which includes both online training and face-to-face workshops. The online training will be the AIATSIS CORE Cultural Learning Training which consists of 10 modules developed by AIATSIS, along with a Griffith-specific module developed by the DVC (Indigenous) office. The face-to-face components will cover various areas and topics specific to Griffith: Embedding Indigenous Content Workshops for Academic Staff and Cultural Competency Workshops that are open to all staff. Internal Resources
GU Parental Research Assistance Program (PRAP) provides academic staff with research or technical assistance either while they are on, or immediately following, parental leave. Applications are open at any time and will be funded on a first-in basis. Please visit the internal grants website for PRAP guidelines and the application form.
The Academic Equity Development Program (AEDP) provides eligible academic and research staff with support to conduct sustained activities to further their development as scholars, researchers, teachers, and/or practitioners.
University Memberships Accessible to Staff
Science in Australia Gender Equity is an Australian organisation licensed to grant awards under the Athena Swan Charter. As a Griffith staff or student you can access SAGE webinars and resources by validating your email addressing using the below instructions:
- Click the “Login” button in the top right corner of the SAGE homepage.
- Enter your INSTITUTION NAME (Griffith) staff or student email address and click “Submit”. Personal email addresses (e.g. Gmail) won’t be accepted.
- Check your inbox for a validation link. If you don’t receive it within an hour and it’s not in your spam folder, contact sage@sciencegenderequity.org.au so the SAGE team can manually validate your email.
- Click the validation link to return to the SAGE homepage. The button in the top right corner should now say “Log out”. Congratulations – your email validation and login was successful!

Women in Technology (WiT) is one of Australia’s biggest communities that support women in across all fields of science and technology. Griffith has a corporate membership with WIT. Register with WIT to stay up to date with news, events, training, and vacant positions by using your work email address.
Pride in Diversity is the national not-for-profit employer support program for LGBTQ workplace inclusion specialising in HR, organisational change, and workplace diversity. As a Pride in Diversity member organisation, Griffith staff can sign up for any Pride Inclusion Training and the Pride in Diversity Newsletters.
Diversity Council Australia is Australia’s only independent, not-for-profit peak body for workplace diversity and inclusion, providing their members, and all member staff, with free access to a unique knowledge bank of research, best practice, and expertise across diversity dimensions. These include gender, culture and religion, generational and mature age, LGBTQIA+, disability and accessibility, flexibility and work-life, as well as mental health.
The Australian Disability Network (ADN) is a national not-for-profit that helps organisations engage with people with disability. Griffith has a silver membership with Australian Network on Disability and facilitates regular disability inclusion workshops.
Equity Practitioners in Higher Education Australasia (EPHEA) is a professional association for equity practitioners who work in higher education throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific region, with strong activity in both the staff and student equity spheres. Griffith staff can be added to the institutional membership by providing their consent via the EOI form.
