Healthcare environments are under intense pressure to focus on service delivery and accountability and are in critical need of innovative ways of working.

Leading Health Services Innovation is a comprehensive program designed in partnership with Metro North Health to support its workforce innovate, transform and lead improvements in the health sector.

This program is designed specifically for middle managers, and emerging change leaders, including clinicians and health service administrators.

Depending on your individual learning goals there are several options for engaging with Leading Health Services Innovation.

Option 1 - Graduate Certificate in Health Services Innovation

    This postgraduate program combines elements of leadership, contemporary knowledge in health innovation, and successful implementation of new ways of working.  Delivered part-time over two years, this graduate certificate combines online, face-to-face and self-directed learning underpinned by the Australian Qualifications Framework.

    The program also includes:

    • Student membership with the Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM)
    • An annual conference and three roundtable discussions with guest presentations from health service executives and industry experts

Option 2: Leading health service innovation micro-credentials

Not ready to take the step to apply to be part of the postgraduate program just yet? Or would you like to enhance your knowledge and development opportunities now? You might like to consider one of the health, aged and social care micro-credentials.

These micro credential courses are smaller, self-funded and self-paced pieces of online learning* that are suitable for aspiring and current leaders working in health, aged and social care.

  • Health economic concepts and principles
  • Health economic evaluation methods
  • Budget impact assessment in health business cases

Pathways for Leading Health Services Innovation

Further study pathways exist for students who complete options 1 or 2 in the Leading Health Services Innovation program.

Completing a bundle of micro-credentials (Option 2) may provide recognition of prior learning which could be used for credit in  the Graduate Certificate of Health Services Innovation.
