Mission statement
Our mission is to do world-class science to improve understanding of catchment, river, estuarine and coastal ecosystems; to provide the knowledge to support rehabilitation, sustainable use and conservation of these systems; and to provide a creative, inclusive and collaborative environment that fosters the next generation of ecosystem scientists.
Our vision
The Australian Rivers Institute is committed to meeting the knowledge and training needs that are essential to sustain the health of our aquatic systems and the services provided by them. We are dedicated to training our academic staff and students to become leaders in the water industry, government and the scientific community. We seek to combine outstanding scholarship with service to society through provision of expertise, training, and advice in relation to the management of aquatic systems. Through our partnerships with stakeholders, we will ensure our research is relevant, innovative and targeted to meet the challenges to water security and the sustainability of aquatic systems in the face of global change.
