Teacher registration and employment
You can take the first steps to becoming a qualified teacher after your conferral.
A conferral is official recognition of your degree and corresponding qualification by the university. You will receive your conferral after completing all program requirements and assessments and clearing any outstanding fees or obligations.
Check your graduation status and outstanding tasks to receive your conferral.
Becoming a Registered Teacher
As a recent teacher graduate you can take the first steps to teaching in the classroom by applying for your provisional registration.
Teacher registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) is mandatory for all teachers looking to work in Queensland state and non-state schools.
Once provisional registration is granted, graduates are permitted to work as a teacher, but they must complete the Provisional to Full registration process. This process typically lasts one year and is designed to ensure that graduates meet the required teaching standards and competencies.
