The Cadaver Museum Project

The Cadaver Museum Project is the collaborative research project of Dr Sonya Peters and Jacques van der Merwe that aspires to document the Griffith School of Anatomy’s collection of cadaver specimens through the visual language of drawing.

The motivation behind the project is not the pursuit of anatomical studies for its own sake, rather, as a collaboration, the project aims to present the beauty and intricacy of the human form through varying perspectives, viewpoints and artistic styles.

In its early stages, the work presented is a collection of sketchbook studies developed from the prosected cadaver specimens of the Griffith School of Anatomy’s collection.
