Amplifier is a live music TV show recorded at The Zoo, an iconic Brisbane venue, featuring new and emerging bands who are making waves on the live music scene. Amplifier aims to recreate concert vibes, with band performances, interviews, mini-docs and hot takes from the audience. Episode 1 features indie up-and-comers The Bluebottles.

It'll Pass
Eden’s fling with Kai is a tumultuous one yet after their most recent fight at a party they’ve made it official. Witness to the couple's toxicities, best friend Cassie lectures Eden on the updated status. She asks Eden to recap the party to help better understand Eden's perspective. Entering her imagination, Eden takes on the role of a Stand-Up comic to effectively tell the tale. Flashbacks to the real fight, exposes vital moments, Eden overlooked. The paralleled and juxtaposed emotions and energies of Eden’s fantasy and reality overwhelm her until eventually… a realisation on the relationship’s true colours is reached.

Nino

When his family decides to immigrate from Italy to Australia for a better life, Nino is left to deal with culture shock in a place where he feels unwanted. Luckily for him, his cousin Salvo has been through this before. Although reluctant at first, Nino, with Salvos guidance, manages to navigate the contrasts of culture, language and lifestyle to overcome prejudice and alienation.

Nuclear
The Hetherington family are a happy bunch who are living the 1960's dream but on a closer look they are just moments away from crumbling under their own fake positivity. WIlliam, the patriarch of the house if harbouring an unchanneled anger. Tee loses of his job and a recurring crack in the wall pushes him into a violent descent, which is mocked by the laugh track. While Helen remains a positive and bubbly housewife, the terrifying weight of her avoidant coping mechanisms come to light as the crack in the wall grows.

Schrodinger's
Seconds from calling it quits on a date from hell, ROSIE and her latest dating app misfire, Roland, stumble across the speakeasy 'Schrodinger's'. Agreeing to send the night off with one last drink, sparks finally fly, love is in the air and the rest is history... until the two put their glasses down and discover that the rest is actually the future. With nothing about this mysterious bar quite as it seems, the two embark on a boozy journey straight from a rom-com. Only one question is on their minds though: are they really the ones for each other?

Working in the farthest room of a distorted parlour, Cherry (Seron Chau) a more reserved specialist, is faced with the violent nature of the world through a new client, Troy (Rijen Laine). The Adult Store
On a night out, three best friends — Sydney, Bowie & Dom — leave teenage hood behind when they dare to enter The Adult Store. But what happens when you stumble upon the last thing you expected to find: your Prince Charming, your Ex, or that your Doppelgänger is a Porn Star? Against the backdrop of this unfamiliar terrain, their internal struggles reveal themselves to be far more confronting than their surroundings. 'The Adult Store' is a provocative, cathartic, intimate triptych on this tumultuous age, the meaning of friendship and the power of vulnerability.

Lumi is a little star with bright career goals; becoming a constellation at the renowned Constellation Corporation, like Ursa Major or the Little Dipper. However, when they arrive late to the group interview they are thrown into a grand light show of other applicants who perform with ease. Memento Mori
Format: Experimental Stop-Motion Animation
Memento Mori is an experimental stop-motion film that follows Charlie through his surreal journey through the five stages of grief. After losing his partner, Charlie becomes imprisoned by denial, haunted by the past in bargaining, rampages in anger and sinks into the dark depth of depression. However, Charlie is able to prevail over these trials and emerge on the other side, accepting and coming to terms with his loss.

Emily is left feeling hopeless after seeing the state of the coral reef during her Island trip. Enter the mischievous Iluka, who leads Emily on a wild chase across the island. In the end, below the waves, Emily regains her hope of a beautiful future for the Great Barrier Reef.

Tunnel Visions

Sophie begins to panic as the crowded train fills and closes in on her. When she sees a young girl having a harder time than her, she reaches out to help. The girl leads her through places that feel strangely familiar until they reach an emotional confrontation. As crashing waves fill the space around them, Sophie starts to question who the girl could really be.
