D Harding: Body of Objects
Known for their politically charged works, Harding was one of just three Australian artists invited to participate in documenta14, the world’s biggest contemporary art event held every five years in Kassel, Germany, and for the first time in 2017, Athens, Greece. Dubbed the ‘art Olympics’, documenta attracts more than a million visitors over 100 days, including collectors, gallery and museum directors and international press.
D Harding: Body of Objects has been developed by Griffith University and documenta14 to introduce Harding’s work to international audiences. Featuring an interview with documenta14 curator Hendrik Folkerts, an essay by Griffith University Art Museum Director Angela Goddard and a wide selection of images from the studio and recent exhibitions, D Harding: Body of Objects presents Harding’s works and processes exploring his Bidjara heritage.
A special launch event was held, Thursday 24 August 2017, to celebrate the launch of the two publciations D Harding: Body of Objects and Gordon Hookey: Summoning Time. Painting & Politikill Transition in MURRILAND!
