Switch your studies to Griffith
At Griffith, about half of our student group haven’t come directly from high school. We know that everyone’s journey is different, which is why we make it simple for you to transfer from another university, TAFE or other institution into the Griffith degree you want to study.
Thinking about making the switch? Find out how straightforward it can be.
How do I switch?
Transferring to Griffith from another university or institution is just like applying for the first time.
Choose your degree.
Select the degree you want to switch to using the Degree Finder on our website and to check the requirements, prerequisites, degree structure and next available intake before you apply.
Apply by following the standard steps for your degree.
For most undergraduate degrees, you'll need to lodge an application through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC). If you intend to study at the Gold Coast campus or online, you may be able to apply via the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).
If you have completed a TAFE Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Certificate of Adult Tertiary Preparation (CATP), you may be eligible to apply directly to Griffith for a range of degrees. Visit our VET pathways website for more information.
For most postgraduate degrees, you can apply directly to Griffith. There are some exceptions, so it's important to check requirements.
Accept your offer.
If your application is successful, you'll receive an offer to study at Griffith. At this point, you'll need to accept your offer, and you may also need to enrol in at least one course (subject) to secure your place.
Apply for credit for prior study.
If you receive and accept an offer, you may also be able to apply for credit for your previous studies. You should submit your credit request online when you enrol in your Griffith program.
Note that credit transfer can apply to formal study, informal study, informal learning and other pathways with credit. See our Credit Transfer page for more information.
