Causes of low acceptance rates

• Earners do not understand the relationship between Griffith and Credly.
• Earners do not want to create an additional account.
• Earners are unaware of the digital badge and of Griffith Credentials.
• Earners create an account but never go back to confirm it.
• Earners do not yet understand the value of digital credentials.
• Data includes email addresses that are no longer valid or in use.

How to increase your acceptance rate

• Send an email or a survey to your earners to understand if there are any trending reasons why they haven’t accepted their badges.
• Send a reminder email directly from the Course Convenor to earners in a pending state after the automatic reminder email cycle completes (approximately 15 days after badge is issued).
• Highlight the value of digital badges via your website.
• Ensure that data (email addresses) are accurate and up-to-date prior to issuing.

What causes a low share rate?

• Earners do not want to link their digital badge within Credly with existing social media accounts.
• Earners do not understand the value of telling their professional stories online.
• Confusion about when and how to share.

Ways to increase your share rate

• Engage in social media support and communications with your earners who share their badges.
• Do a promotion centred on sharing badges.
• Educate earners about how and why to share their badges.
• Include links to to the Griffith Credentials website to provide knowledge about sharing.

Griffith uses the Credly digital badge platform to issue badges to earners. The platform uses an earner's email address as their unique identifier, which means that the badge will always be tied to the email used when issuing. Earners can easily add other email address(es) (a secondary email) to their Credly profile. This will ensure that all of their Credly badges will appear under one profile, even if their badges were issued to different email addresses.

Earners simply need their username (an email address) and password to log into the Credly digital badge platform. If they have confirmed their account previously but lost access to the email inbox, they can still log into the platform using their username and password.
