Tell us about Clarity Road! What is the mission?

Clarity Road is a profit for purpose social assistance business, helping women thrive and prosper. We offer services that facilitate human potential, including but not limited to separation and divorce concierge; evergreen elder care solutions; and advocacy initiatives.

We are dedicated to impacting the lives of women, and we empower, inspire, and inform women everywhere, from all walks of life.

You formerly owned and managed an events business. What skills and insights have you been able to utilise from this experience to Clarity Road and its clients?

As mentioned, I previously owned an award-winning wedding and events business, and it taught me a lot about people, and that every person is an individual with unique needs and wants. These insights helped me greatly when I started Clarity Road, it made me realise that a “whole of person” approach is required to really be able to provide multiple solutions, to help people deal with some very hard decisions and circumstances. It also highlighted that a “one size fits all” approach doesn’t always work for our clients.

Do you have any advice for entrepreneurs and professionals looking to make a social impact?

I have a couple of pieces of advice, which include:

  • Everybody has the ability to create positive social impact, it doesn’t always take grand sweeping gestures, even small steps of change can make a difference.
  • Don’t ever forget the vision of the business – you can’t be all things to all people, so stick to what you are good at and what the business offers…don’t dilute your value to your clients.
  • Don’t be afraid to be an authority in your industry – social impact can be achieved by everybody, and it can be achieved by being brave enough to carve your own path.
  • Be strong enough to implement the changes required.
  • At the end of the day, you just need to make it happen!

Which UN Sustainable Development Goals ( SDG ) are you most passionate about and why?

I am passionate about all of the SDG s; however, my key focus is gender equality, good health & well-being and reduced inequalities. These SDG s align with our strategic plans for Clarity Road and support the ethos and values-based work we do.

We (Clarity Road) are advocates for positive change, and for the continuous improvements and empowerment of women, and we believe the identified SDG s provide a great framework to implement measures that matter across Clarity Road and the ecosystem we work within.

What is one skill you couldn’t live without and why?

As much as I am sure some people wish I didn’t have it because I talk a lot, I think my skill of having a voice for women and not being afraid to speak up and use it, is a skill I couldn’t live without.  People experiencing life changing events need people around them that can be a voice for them, when they don’t have the courage or ability to do so themselves. I’m lucky I have a voice and the confidence to help women live a better life.

Last but certainly not least, what was your favourite MBA course and why?

I loved Sustainability and Systems Thinking! I went into it with limited knowledge, and I came out inspired and motivated to implement the strategies in my work and personal life. I had no understanding of the sustainability journey and how it impacts everyone, and I learnt that the negative impacts affect all industries. It is everyone’s responsibility to do better and collaborate for better sustainability outcomes.
