Pioneering international filmmaking for emerging talent

The Asia Pacific Screen Lab is a collaboration between Griffith Film School, the Asia Pacific Screen Awards and the network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema.

The Asia Pacific Screen Lab is crucial to the development of stories from the vast Asia Pacific region, and an exciting extension of the role of the APSA Academy as we use the expert creative knowledge to mentor and accelerate new and talented voices.

Jack Thompson AM, APSA Academy President

This highly successful program offers a tailor made, year-long immersive program to emerging filmmakers from the region, helping them to make the move to working in a broader international framework.

Participants are matched with a mentor who is a member of the prestigious Academic of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards, and the program culminates with a pitch to a high-profile industry jury of sales agents, producers and festival programmers.

The success of the Asia Pacific Screen Lab would not have been possible without the support, leadership and advocacy from one of Griffith’s long-time donors.

This sustained partnership has enabled a growing cohort of filmmakers from across the Asia Pacific to bring their stories and cultural to a global audience.
