Grace Archer is entering her final year of a Bachelor of Human Services. Grace is an inspiring young person, who is a full-time student, youth and disability worker, and community volunteer. She was overjoyed to learn she was receiving a Students' Future Fund scholarship again this year:
“I was excited, relieved and grateful to the donors for the gift of this scholarship. The support means so much and allows me to be a better student, professional, and leader within my community.
I work three jobs totalling around 30 hours per week, so I can keep on top of my bills. This year, I will be doing a 10-week unpaid placement as part of my degree, so this scholarship has immensely eased the financial burden associated with being unable to work,” Grace said.
As a recipient of this scholarship last year, Grace is looking forward to a similar impact this year. She credits her scholarship with being able to maintain a high GPA score, increasing confidence and allowing her to volunteer significantly within the community, in particular the Scouting movement. The Scouts helped and shaped her when she was going through challenging times as a teenager, which fuels her desire to give back through volunteer work.
When Grace graduates, she wants to work with vulnerable communities and young people.
“I want to be a changemaker in the community and make a difference in young peoples’ lives. Thank you to the donors for supporting and believing in me.”
