Enhance your knowledge and professional development
Disability awareness is an important part of establishing inclusion for people with disability and an essential part of the University's strategic intent for both staff and students within the Griffith community.
Online Disability Awareness Training
Misconceptions about people with disability are often the result of lack of awareness. The content in this program is ideal for someone who has minimal or no knowledge of disability, and can be used as a refresher course to be applied across a range of workplaces.
This program aims to build confidence in interactions with people with disability, learn tips for better communication, discover where to find out more information about particular disability topics and share this new knowledge with others.
If you're a student, this program will enhance your preparation for work-integrated learning and work in existing part-time or volunteer roles, and in demonstrating Griffith Graduate Attributes.
For staff, this program will prepare incoming staff through induction training and build capacity in existing staff around how to embed inclusive practices in all spheres of the organisation.
This online training is an initiative of the National Disability Coordination Officer Program and Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training. This introductory course can be combined with Griffith's face-to-face Disability Awareness Training and resources on the accessibility and inclusion website.
