Tax and Crime Adviser, OECD
Marcos Roca joined the OECD in 2020 as Tax and Crime Adviser. In this capacity he supports the standard-setting and capacity building programmes of the OECD Task Force on Tax Crimes and Other Crimes, including managing the OECD Academy for Tax and Financial Crime Investigation.
Marcos started his professional career as a criminal investigator at the Public Prosecutions Service of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He also served as a Senior Adviser to the Minister of Justice and Public Safety and as the first head of the Observatory of Public Safety Policies of Buenos Aires, responsible for benchmarking police work to international standards. He is a published author in the field of criminal law and criminal justice, and has taught law at several universities.
Marcos holds a law degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires and a MSc. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Edinburgh. He grew up speaking Spanish and French and is also fluent in English, German and Portuguese.
